Practical Test AnalysisTwo days
This course develops and tests the fundamental practical skills needed by any tester. It is the essential follow-up to any theory-based or general testing course.

Documents produced by the delegate during the course are examined afterwards by a board of assessors. Upon successful completion a Certificate of Competence is awarded as documentary evidence that the delegate has developed the core practical skills required for the rôle of a professional tester.

Merit and Distinction grades are awarded for excellent performance.

Objectives

Intended for
All software testers. The course has been designed to be taken after basic theory courses and some knowledge of fundamental testing principles is assumed.

Test plan
Reviewing the documentation; the test strategy; planning the testing work; identifying test objects, test objectives and exit criteria; reviewing the test plan

Test analysis
Performing detailed analysis of the specification and design documentation to derive test conditions, document the scope of the testing work and provide detail for the exit criteria; reviewing the test conditions and exit criteria

Test design
Creating test scripts; ensuring that the planned test conditions are tested correctly; reviewing test scripts

Test schedule, execution log and test report
Scheduling the execution of test scripts; recording issues; reporting testing results
